A man accused of possessing a gun and ammo feeding device in New York City was arrested on Tuesday. The suspect, Roddy Ricch, was arrested on charges of illegal and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say that he was traveling with his bodyguard, Michael Figuroa, and a driver, Carlos Collins. Collins is a Westchester County resident. Ricch has not yet hired an attorney.
A private security company was reportedly responsible for stopping Ricch near the Governors Ball in Queens on Wednesday, where they found a loaded gun, nine rounds of ammunition, and a high-capacity magazine. Ricch was arrested on these charges, as well as several others in his vehicle. The singer is scheduled to perform at the Governors Ball music festival today, so his arrest may have some ramifications for his performance.
According to sources, the rapper and two other men were arrested together in his vehicle. They were charged with illegal and criminal possession of a weapon, as well as four counts of criminal possession of ammunition. Although Roddy was due to perform at the Governors Ball, he was forced to cancel the performance because his scheduled slot was conflicting with a movie.
