Joey BadA$$ Sparks It Off in Red Bull Spiral

The moment Joey BadA$$ dropped his now-viral verse during the Red Bull Spiral freestyle cypher, fans knew shots were fired. Among the lyrical jabs, one line stood out:

“Shouldn’t give you n**as the time of day, but fck it, shine a light on ’em, I’mma light Ray!”

The bar, among others, was widely interpreted as a shot at TDE’s Ray Vaughn, who had previously questioned Joey’s relevance in a now-deleted tweet.

Ray Vaughn Fires Back with “Hoe Era”

Ray Vaughn didn’t wait long. Within 48 hours, he clapped back with a scathing diss titled “Hoe Era.” The track came loaded with venom and slick wordplay:

“B*tch, you washed, you ain’t carryin’ no torch/ you let Ice Spice turn into the king of New York.”

The internet lit up. Fans on X (formerly Twitter) debated the best bar, while IG stories exploded with screen-recorded reaction videos. TDE supporters praised Ray for stepping up, with many calling “Hoe Era” his sharpest performance to date.

Joey BadA$$ Answers With “The Finals”

Then came Joey’s second swing: “The Finals.” Within hours of “Hoe Era” trending, Joey responded with a blistering lyrical rebuttal. Over a soul-sample-laced beat, he dismantled Ray Vaughn’s credentials:

“You was cloned in the lab, dog, you artificial/ You known for your label, not because your art official.”

Critics and fans alike have praised “The Finals” as a lyrical masterclass. Many are already comparing it to early 2000s beefs for its balance of aggression and craftsmanship.

Fan Reactions and Media Fallout

Social media has been ablaze with think-pieces and side-by-side bar breakdowns. YouTube reactors like King of the Dot and Dissect Daily have posted immediate analysis videos. The verdict? Most see Joey BadA$$ as having the upper hand—for now.

On TikTok, the hashtag #JoeyVsRay racked up over 5 million views within 48 hours, with fans reenacting the beef and even staging mock battles in comment threads.

What’s Next in the Battle?

As of now, Ray Vaughn hasn’t announced another response, but TDE is known for calculated moves. Joey, meanwhile, has said little beyond a cryptic IG Story that read: “Chess not checkers.”

Whether this escalates further or simmers out, one thing’s clear: hip-hop is watching—and hungry.
