Nicki Minaj Receives Video Vanguard Award At 2022 VMAs

 

Nicki Minaj won the Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 VMAs. She  also won in the best hip-hop video category. Minaj co-hosted the show with LL Cool J and Jack Harlow. This is her sixth VMA win. Previously, she won in 2011 with her video for “Super Bass.”

Nicki Minaj has performed at the VMAs for the past three years. Her first VMA performance came in 2012, where she rapped on Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire.” In 2014, she performed on three separate stages, performing “Anaconda,” “She Came II Give It 2 U,” and “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Jessie J. Minaj has performed at the VMAs six times in total. However, her husband is unlikely to attend the show, due to legal issues.

The Michael Jackson  Video Vanguard Award is the highest honor at the MTV Video Music Awards. Only a handful of artists are honored with this award each year. It is presented to artists who have had a profound impact on the world of music video. The award is not awarded as a conventional silver trophy. Previous winners include Janet Jackson, Madonna, LL Cool J, and Missy Elliott. The Video Vanguard Award has also been given to The Beatles.

Nicki Minaj won the Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. She is also a 17-time nominee and five-time winner of the VMA. Her performance was followed by a montage of videos from fans all over the world.
