Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist are both no strangers to collaboration projects. GIbbs, who is fresh off the high praised Bandanna album with acclaimed produced Mad Lib, has broken through being cornered into a particular sound. The Alchemist, who has collab projects with Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Action Bronson, Conway The Machine, and Currensy, has a distinct sound that has been sought out by hip hop’s most prized rappers. What happens when these two connect? Alfredo.

The album is actually the second time the two have collaborated. Fetti, which also featured Currensy, was released in 2018. Alfredo boasts features from Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Tyler, the Creator, and Rick Ross. It has received a warm embrace from fans and critics alike.

Ice Cube’s first solo album after his departure from the groundbreaking group N.W.A., Amerikkka’s Most Wanted, recently turned 30 years old. The album is documented as one of the first fusions of east and west coasts hip hop elements. It showed Ice Cube as an artist capable of holding his own and creating classic material. It also was an introduction to Cube’s new crew, Lench Mob, which included Yo-Yo, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Sir Jinx, and the group Da Lench Mob. In honor of the platinum album’s anniversary, Ice Cube took to his Instagram account and did a live listening and commentary of it. Upon Nipsey’s transtion, media mogul Nick Cannon stepped in to ensure that the deed of telling Dr. Sebi’s story saw the light of day. Many claimed this was a dangerous task and Nick would not be able to complete it due to much skepticism with mainstream media. Staying true to his word, Nick has released a trailer that shows that task is coming to fruition. With appearances from the likes of Professor X, Dr. Umar Johnson, Common, Rizza Islam, Dr. Eric Michael Dyson, Tariq Nasheed, Erykah Badu, and more, no release date is set.
