MF Doom’s Rhyme book was allegedly stolen by a longtime business partner, Egon Alapatt, of Adult Swim, on December 31, 2021. During this time, MF DOOM was collaborating with the network to release a series of songs. The series, The Missing Notebook Rhymes, was slated to be a 15-week series. During the first seven weeks of the show, Adult Swim provided free tracks by DOOM.
Jasmine Dumile, MF Doom’s widow, confirmed in a statement that a former business associate Egon Alapatt, owner of Now-Again Records, has stolen his rhyme book. She said that she is disappointed in Alapatt’s decision to keep the stolen book. In addition, she called Alapatt a “culture vulture” and a “non-black person.”
