After receiving backlash from his comments regarding George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement, Kanye West has apologized to Black Americans for his comments. During a recent interview with “Drink Champs,” West stated George Floyd died from fentanyl use and not from police officer Derrick Chauvin applying his knee to Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes. The episode has been removed from RevoltTV, Spotify, and YouTube.
After the furor over West’s false claims that Floyd died of fentanyl, Adidas cut ties with him. The rapper also apologized for his anti-Semitic comments and his ‘white lives matter‘ t-shirts. Still, the controversy surrounding his comments about George Floyd and Floyd’s family plans to sue for $250 million continues to linger.
