Happy New Year to everyone reading this! If you’re a fan of the culture of hip hop, at this time of the year you probably look forward to something once the ball drops at midnight. Of course, we should all be thankful for making it through another year and making commitments of making the next year a better one. But hip hop heads have their listening ears ready for one thing…. THE RAP UP!
New York rapper Uncle Murda has delivered an annual “Rap Up” song every year since 2014. Every track is delivered in his signature conversational, blunt, and arguably disrespectful manner. Not mention, it can be quite humorous, overall. Listening to an Uncle Murda Rap Up is like a conversation that is held at a neighborhood barbershop. Bottom line, Uncle Murda’s lyrics reflect what a lot of people already are saying or discussing. They also make you remember the events of the previous 365 day calendar.
For the Rap Up 2021, several topics and names are brought up. Per the usual, Murda gives it up raw and holds no punches. He comments on how he said he wasn’t going to do this Rap Up but admits he “was cappin'”. However, he has stated once again this will be his last time doing the Rap Up.
