Tory Lanez Found Guilty On All Counts In Case Against Megan Thee Stallion

A Los Angeles jury has found rapper Tory Lanez guilty of three felonies in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. The 30-year-old Canadian artist, born Daystar Peterson, faces up to 22 years in prison. He also faces a deportation to Canada.

Lanez, who pleaded not guilty to charges of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, allegedly shot Megan multiple times when she exited the vehicle where she was riding in. According to the testimony, he shouted out to Megan to dance and then fired the gun out of a window. After the shooting, she underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments from her feet.

Lanez’s attorney tried to push the narrative that a third party shot Megan. His theory rested on a lack of DNA linking Lanez to a 9mm handgun. But Kelly, an alleged eyewitness to the incident, testified that he saw a man matching Lanez’s description carrying a gun. While he said he saw the muzzle flash, he disputed the defense theory.

Megan’s testimony was more confusing than what she told police. She first said that she cut her feet on broken glass. Several months later, she told police she was in a car on her way home from a Kylie Jenner party when she was shot. Her friends, including Kelsey Harris, denied being involved in the shooting. Later, she recanted her story and stated that she never saw the gun.

The prosecutors added a third charge, which was more specific to the incident. The charges included a discharging a firearm with gross negligence and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. They also questioned the credibility of Megan’s version of events.

During the trial, Lanez’s father and stepmother caused a scene in the courtroom. Neither Lanez nor his representatives responded to a request for comment.

Despite the verdict, there was still plenty of drama in the case. After the verdict, Lanez was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs. He was then taken to jail wearing a powder pink coat. However, there was no visible reaction on his face when the verdict was read.

On Friday, January 27, Lanez is scheduled to be sentenced. Lanez could face up to 22 years in prison, and deportation to Canada. Since the shooting, Lanez has attempted to discredit Megan on social media and other forums. One of the most widely circulated claims is that Lanez paid Harris a $1 million bribe in order to keep quiet.
