Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion Trial Updates

Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion Trial Updates

The Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion trial has began. This case has gone viral on social media as each rapper has released music with references to it.

On Tuesday, Megan Thee Stallion, a Houston-native rapper, testified in a Los Angeles courtroom. She said she was shot in her foot by Tory Lanez more than two years ago. She also said she remained injured after the shooting. Despite her injuries, she testified that she had nerve damage. She also said that Lanez screamed “dance, bitch” before firing a weapon.

After the shooting, Lanez allegedly apologized for his actions. It’s said he felt guilty and was drunk when he fired the gun. He also said he was sorry for his actions, though he did not have an explanation for why he did not take the time to check on Megan. He was charged with assault with a firearm and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of all three charges.

Megan Thee Stallion’s testimony was emotional. She said she wished she was dead instead of having to deal with this case. She said she felt ashamed when she initially thought about the shooting. She said she was scared of being jailed. She also said she was concerned about her friends’ safety. She offered to pay a million dollars to stop a lawsuit, but was told not to. She even wrote an essay for the New York Times about the incident.

Another witness on the scene was Kelsey Harris. She was Megan’s best friend and assistant when the incident occurred. She was with Megan and Tory when the shooting happened. She sent text messages to Lanez’s security guard, reading “Tory shot Meg” and “help” and “911”.

After the shooting, Lanez pleaded not guilty and was placed on house arrest.  He is facing charges of felony assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He could face nearly 23 years in prison if convicted.

The trial has been plagued with conflict. George Mgdesyan, Lanez’s defense attorney, said Megan and Harris had sexual relationships with Lanez. The case has been a hotbed of debate on social media, with many rappers releasing music that makes reference to it. Several YouTube channels have discussed the case, with Megan Thee Stallion’s account receiving a lot of attention.

The trial will continue to play out on social media. According to the Los Angeles Times, the reporter who tweeted Lanez’s texts said he received a voicemail from him apologizing. Meanwhile, a Twitter user named James Queally tweeted that he was sent a text message by Lanez that read, “Tory shot Meg.”

There are a number of alternative theories being presented in the trial. Besides Megan and Harris, Corey Gamble is expected to testify. He was a friend of Megan and Tory. He has testified before and he is expected to speak about the shooting.
