SZA‘s SOS is number one on the Billboard 200. This marks the first time that a female R&B singer has spent four weeks at the top of the chart since Adele’s 30 was at the top in 2008.
The SOS album is already certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, the highest certification a studio album can achieve. It has also received 810 million clicks on streaming services.
SZA’s “SOS” is the fifth-largest debut of 2022. Her album dominated the streaming charts for the week of December 9. By the end of the week, it had earned almost 400 million streams in the US.
Moreover, the album earned the third-largest streaming week for any album in 2022. In addition, SZA’s SOS became the first R&B/Hip-Hop artist to score a No. 1 album debut on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
SZA’s SOS is also the third-largest digital album of 2022. It has sold 315,160 equivalent album units in its first week.
The album’s first single, “Kill Bill,” is at the top of the Hot 100. And it’s also a big hit on the radio. As of this writing, it has been streamed over 416 million times in the United States.
Meanwhile, SZA’s SOS Tour is set to begin in Columbus, Ohio, on February 21. During the tour, SZA will perform in 17 cities across North America.
Currently, SZA’s SOS has earned 128,000 “equivalent album units” in the U.S. and it’s the third-largest first-week sale of an R&B/Hip-Hop album this year.
