SZA’s sophomore LP SOS has landed at number one for the ninth nonconsecutive week on the Billboard 200 chart. The set earned 93,000 equivalent album units in the week ending February 16, according to Luminate, a data provider for Billboard charts.
The chart-topper also sets a new record for most weeks at number one for an R&B/hip-hop album by a woman, since Mariah Carey’s 11-week run in 1991 on her self-titled album. SZA joins Adele and Taylor Swift as the only female artists to have an album spend at least seven nonconsecutive weeks at number one on the list this century.
SZA and her opening act, Omar Apollo, are taking her “SOS” tour to the road next month as they embark on a 17-date trek that will hit cities like Columbus, Ohio; Chicago, Illinois; Detroit; Toronto, Ontario; and Boston, Massachusetts. SZA will close out her tour in Los Angeles on March 22.
Meanwhile, Paramore’s reuniting pop-rock trio “This Is Why” debuts at number two, making it their highest-charting album in nearly a decade. The album earns 64,000 equivalent units in the week that ended February 16.
In addition, five former No. 1s are next on the chart: Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” (3-6; 54,000 units, down 11%); Metro Boomin’s “Heroes & Villains” (6-4; 47,000 units, up 7%); Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” (4-4; 44,000 units, down 1%); Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” (5-6; 46,000 units, up 4%); and TXT’s “The Name Chapter: Temptation” (10-9; 33,000 units). Rounding out the Top 10 is Harry Styles’ “Harry’s House” (9-3; 33,000 units) and Tomorrow x Together’s “The Name Chapter: Temptation” (1-3; 32,000 units).
