Julez Santana from the acclaimed hip hop collective The Diplomats is currently serving a federal sentence on drug and weapons charges. Prior to locking in for his bid, Santana was busy recording and completing material. This period was documented on Love & Hip Hop New York, showing him recording in the studio and preparing his family for his upcoming bid. Santana’s wife Kimbella is shown during the current season working to compile his recordings for a release while he is incarcerated. The result of this work has been released for the masses and titled #FREESANTANA. The project includes features from DipSet member Jim Jones, Lil Wayne (whom collaborated with Santana on an unreleased project titled I Can’t Feel My Face over ten years ago.), Dave East, 2 Chainz, Belly, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. The buzz has generated listens and comments due to Santana addressing issues with DipSet frontman Cam’ron. There are no exact timestamps when Julez recorded all his verses, which means that some of them may have been from years ago prior to the Diplomats reunion that took place in 2018.
