After an explosion on stage at Lollapalooza, Lil Durk has announced that he is undergoing medical treatment. Fans have been posting well-wishes to the rapper on his social media accounts. The Coachella music festival continues on Sunday with Green Day and J-Hope as the headliners. Durk’s new album 7220 is currently out and the rapper is touring to promote the album. He has several upcoming dates, but it’s unclear whether any of them will be canceled.
On July 30, Lil Durk was injured during a performance at Lollapalooza Chicago. Video of the event has gone viral, and it shows the rap star struggling to perform after the pyrotechnics onstage hit him. As the video shows, Lil Durk stumbled backward and immediately pulled a t-shirt over his face to sooth the pain. He returned to the stage shortly afterward and then sat down to perform a verse for Nardo Wick’s ‘Who Wants Smoke?’ ‘It’s not the end of the world,’ says the rapper.
During his performance at Lollapalooza, Lil Durk suffered an injury to his right eye. During the set, the rapper was hit by two onstage fireworks that exploded in his face. The DJ halted the music while Durk collected himself. He performed the rest of his set without any further injury and tweeted about the incident. Afterwards, he posted a photo of himself recovering in hospital with a bandage covering his right eye.
The injured rapper will have to be monitored closely after his performance. He’s expected to be out for two to three weeks. Meanwhile, Lollapalooza Fest also featured Big Sean, YG, Blxst, Machine Gun Kelly, and Dua Lipa. The festival will continue on Sunday, and on Monday, the lineup will include Denzel Curry, Erica Banks, Baby Tate, and Tine.
