Earlier in the morning, he had complained about chest pains. He had also complained of irregular heartbeat.

The woman told 911 operator that she was a nurse but did not know the man’s address. During the 18-minute call, Ortensia Alcantara became increasingly frantic, performing CPR on Samuels. She then took him to Piedmont Hospital, where he died.
