After slamming “Shake It” as a terrible song, Cardi B shut down the Hot 97 Summer Jam music festival with a performance of her own. Cardi joined Dougie B and B-Lovee during the closing set of the concert to the surprise of fans. She continued to rock for 15 minutes until the end of the concert.
The Hot 97 summer concert series, which features hip-hop superstars, brought out big names for the event. Headliners included DreamDoll, Shenseea, Benny The Butcher, Burna Boy, Roddy Rich, Pusha T, City Girls, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and — closing the show—hometown, Brooklyn’s, Fivio Foreign. Meek Mill also appeared as a surprise performer.
While Cardi B may only have one album to her name, she has been recognized as one of hip hop’s most influential women. Her first major single reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the second female rapper to do so. Since then, she has been joined by Megan Thee Stallion. Despite her lack of album releases, Cardi B’s music has been a hot commodity.
