Takeoff of the Migos Shot And Killed In Houston, Details Surface

The details of Takeoff of the Migos‘ murder are emerging in the wake of his shooting in Houston, Texas. According to police, the rapper was shot in the head. The motive for the shooting is unclear. However, police are asking the public to help them identify the suspect. The rapper was the youngest member of the group, and had not garnered as much attention as his cousin Offset, who is married to Cardi B. He was not featured on many top ten tracks. A night before the shooting, Takeoff shared an image with his Instagram story showing a bowling alley. He had just released a music video for his song “Messy,” which was the band’s most popular song.

Quavo and Takeoff appeared to get into an argument moments before the shooting. After an argument, several bullets rang out, causing panic among the crowd outside of the Houston bowling alley. Takeoff was shot in the head, and Quavo tried to revive him.

The shooting took place in the 1200 block of Polk Street in downtown Houston. The incident prompted at least a dozen law enforcement agencies to respond to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found two victims, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. One victim was dead, and the second was in critical condition. Police are investigating the motive behind the shooting.

The details surrounding the shooting are still emerging, but it is important to remember that the rappers were on a plane to Houston the night of Takeoff’s murder. There was also a party taking place in Houston hours before the shooting, which is also a promotion stop for their new album. Takeoff’s last Instagram post shows a scene from the music video. In the video, the rappers are waking up from a dream while driving their car.

While Quavo and Offset are the most recognizable members of the Migos, Takeoff was the most intriguing and eccentric member. He embodied a combination of street chops and pop sensibilities. Quavo was the more mainstream member of the group, while Offset was the charismatic one. Takeoff was a weighty man.  Despite his lack of a musical background, Takeoff was an intuitive and sensitive member of the group.

Whether or not the rapper’s murder was the result of an accidental shooting or a deliberate crime, the murder of Takeoff is a tragedy of immense importance in rap. The photos and videos of his last moments made their rounds on social media, and Quavo’s plea for help were also shared. Ultimately, the shooting has changed the way that death is perceived, especially Black death. Quavo must now come to terms with one of his darkest moments being immortalized.
