Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist – Scottie Beam featuring Rick Ross
Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist are both no strangers to collaboration projects. GIbbs, who is fresh off the high praised Bandannaalbum with acclaimed produced Mad Lib, has broken through being cornered into a particular sound. The Alchemist, who has collab projects with Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Action Bronson, Conway The Machine, and Currensy, has a distinct sound that has been sought out by hip hop’s most prized rappers. What happens when these two connect? Alfredo.
The album is actually the second time the two have collaborated. Fetti, which also featured Currensy, was released in 2018. Alfredoboasts features from Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Tyler, the Creator, and Rick Ross. It has received a warm embrace from fans and critics alike.
Scottie Beam is the first visual release from the album and features Freddie Gibbs and Rick Ross trading bars over Alchemist’s signature production. View the video above. To hear the Alfredo album, check below courtesy of Spotify.
Watch Jadakiss – Kisses To The Sky Lyrical heavyweight Jadakiss checks in with a new visual for “Kisses To The Sky”. The track is a cinematic soundscape in itself with piano riffs and strings over a laid back bass line. Kiss enlists another bar heavy wordsmith in the likes of Rick Ross and Emanny brings the rappers’ verses together with smooth vocals that toast to the good life. A dope merge of styles between the collaborators as they make this track resonate. The video wouldn’t be a Jadakiss product if there wasn’t a theatrical twist to the story line. Pretty women, fly fashion, dope music, and a gangster twist to the plot takes the track to the next level.
Rick Ross has broken through the barriers that artists with ten years plus in the rap game usually face. The ability to continue to appeal to the listening audience of hip hop fans whose attention moves with the latest sound. Ross proves yet again to have the ear for beats when it comes to his latest release, “Port of Miami 2”. Without sounding dated or rusty, Ricky Rozay is still in his bag with the lyrics and delivery as it fits sonically over a great body of work. Definitely a great follow up to his 2017 release, “Rather You Than Me” and befitting to be the sequel to his 2006 debut release “Port of Miami”. #PRESSPLAY
