Alleged Killers Of Jam Master Jay Headed To Trial

The two men accused of killing Run-DMC legend Jam Master Jay are headed to trial. Federal prosecutors have set the trial for February 2023. Their defense attorneys are relying on cell phone records to prove their alibi, arguing that they waited too long to bring charges and that the key evidence had been lost. The judge, however, dismissed these arguments as “speculative.”

The alleged killers of Jam Master Jay have been indicted for the murder of legendary Run-DMC DJ Jam Master Jay in Queens. The shooting occurred in 2002 in a recording studio. Ronald Washington was serving a prison sentence for armed robbery at the time of his indictment. The other man, Karl Jordan Jr., was arrested a month prior.

The case against Washington and Jordan has taken the nation by storm. The murder of Jay remains one of New York City’s most persistent mysteries. In an ABC documentary, Washington and Jordan claimed to be friends with Jay. They also argued that Washington had been involved in a drug deal before they killed him. The alleged killers of Jam Master Jay were allegedly in an ambush on his way to a cocaine deal.

A judge ruled in Washington and Jordan’s favor on Monday. Judge Hueston said that Jordan and Washington should be tried separately. The accused robbers were allegedly involved in drug dealing and gun distribution. They are currently in federal custody and will be arraigned at a later date.

The case against the two men is expected to start in February 2023. Washington and Jordan face life sentences if convicted. Jordan and Washington have each pleaded not guilty.
