Pat Stay was a 36-year-old Canadian battle rapper. He was found with multiple stab wounds in downtown Halifax. The rapper was taken to a local hospital, but later died. The cause of Stay’s death was a homicide, according to the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service. The Halifax Regional police are investigating the case but have not made any arrests.
The hip-hop community has been rushing to help the Stay family in the wake of the death. A GoFundMe page has raised more than $200,000 for the family. The page has also hosted fundraisers to help the family. One of the fundraisers, Get a Tat for Pat, took place on Sunday. Some people have also donated to the Stay family by participating in yoga flow classes.
