Salt N Pepa To Receive A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Known as the First Ladies of Hip-Hop, Salt N Pepa have finally been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The duo started their career in the early 1980s and achieved platinum sales with their first album, Hot, Cool & Vicious. Pepa was born in Jamaica and Salt was raised in Bushwick, Brooklyn. In 1985, the duo won their first Grammy Award.

In addition to being the first all-female rap group, Salt N Pepa were among the first to express female sensuality and romantic desires through their music.
