In response to allegations that Beyonce sampled her Renaissance song, Kelis not only hit back at Beyonce, but she also posted a video on Instagram explaining why she was upset. In the video, Kelis clarified her concerns, recalling past trouble between her and The Neptunes.
Beyonce has been open about sampling other artists’ work, so Kelis is not happy about this. While she’s not happy with Beyonce sampling her music, the singer is happy to be working on new material. Beyonce’s Renaissance album is due for release at midnight on Friday, but it was leaked earlier in the week and is already being sold in Europe.
