Karen Civil Named Executive Vice President of Yung Money Records

In a recent interview, Civil discussed her time as a music industry executive and the importance of diversity in the music industry. Civil has worked with artists and producers such as Complex, Nipsey Hussle, and Beats by Dre. She was also a strategic adviser to the Clinton campaign during the 2016 presidential election. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades including honors from BET Awards and Ebony magazine. She has also been honored with a key to the city of her hometown, Elizabeth, NJ.

Civil has been working with Lil Wayne’s Young Money label since 2010, and previously served in various roles as the label’s social media strategist and executive vice president. In her new position, she will oversee the day-to-day operations of the label, reporting directly to label president Mack Maine. On the occasion of her promotion, she took to social media to celebrate her new role. Lil Wayne also congratulated her on Instagram, saying: “Thanks, Karen!”
