According to Bandcamp’s official 2026 calendar, the next date after October 2 is November 6, followed by December 4.

That leaves two announced dates in 2026 as of this article’s reporting date. For an artist with a project, a beat tape or a small merchandise offering, the useful question is what to prepare before the day arrives.

The fee waiver creates an opportunity. A clear offer and a reachable audience still have to do the work.

What Bandcamp Friday actually changes

Bandcamp says it waives its revenue share on Bandcamp Fridays so artists and labels retain more from purchases. Its September 26 update also lists November 6 and December 4 among the remaining dates.

That does not mean every dollar paid by a customer becomes an artist’s profit. Bandcamp’s fee guidance distinguishes its revenue share from payment-processing fees and notes that collection-society charges can apply. Physical products also bring production and fulfillment costs.

Use precise language when promoting the day: Bandcamp is waiving its revenue share. Avoid promising that every purchase goes entirely into the artist’s pocket.

Know the event window

Bandcamp’s official countdown page describes the event window as midnight to midnight Pacific time.

For November 6, that converts to 3 a.m. Friday, November 6, through 3 a.m. Saturday, November 7, Eastern time. Check the official countdown again when the event approaches.

That timing matters for artists promoting to audiences in several time zones. A late-night post on the East Coast should make clear whether the window has started or is about to close.

A focused plan for Bandcamp Friday November 2026

The following is Ground Up Radio’s suggested approach, not a Bandcamp requirement.

Start with one main offer. It might be a finished digital project, an existing release worth revisiting, or physical stock you already have ready to ship. Choose something you can explain and deliver without adding unnecessary pressure.

Then give listeners a reason to care. Share the story behind one track, explain a production choice, or introduce a collaborator. A buyer should understand what they are supporting before reaching the checkout page.

You do not need to pretend an older album is new. An honest introduction can help a recent follower discover work they missed the first time.

Prepare the details before promoting

Review the release page on a phone. Check the artwork, track names, credits, price and description. If you are selling physical items, confirm the stock count and make the shipping expectations clear.

Plan a short sequence of messages: an introduction before the event, a reminder during the live window, and a thank-you afterward. Use your website, social profiles and an opt-in email list to give interested listeners a consistent destination.

Keep the request specific. Asking someone to support one release is easier to act on than presenting several unrelated offers at once. If you add a bonus, explain exactly what it is and how the buyer receives it.

Measure more than attention

Afterward, compare visits, purchases and actual proceeds after applicable costs. Those numbers answer different questions.

A post can attract attention without sending people to the release page. A page can receive visits without convincing anyone to buy. Looking at each step helps identify what to improve before December 4.

For hip-hop media and radio, the supporting role is editorial: help listeners understand the artist, play and discuss the work where authorized, and point them toward accurate purchase information. Discovery and direct support can work together.

At Ground Up Radio, we see the lasting goal as a stronger relationship between artists and the people who value their music. One sales day can help start that relationship; consistent work gives it a reason to continue.
