Video: Troy Ave – “2 Legit 2 Quit”

Posted by on Feb 3, 2018 in Interviews, News, Video |

Rapper Troy Ave has had his share of drama in the last couple of years. The most notable is the shooting incident he was involved in at New York City’s Irving Plaza that resulted in his friend/bodyguard Ronald “Banga” Mcphatter being killed and Troy being shot in the leg. A video of Troy Ave firing a pistol at someone not seen on camera went viral, and it was assumed he was the shooter.

Later in time, the shooter is now alleged to be Darryl “Taxstone” Campbell, the “Tax Season” podcast host who had been locked in a public feud with Ave for a while. After authorities recovered a gun said to be the murder weapon in the shooting, Taxstone was taken into custody and being held with no bail until trial. Ave, who initially was arrested and held in custody due to the case, has been out on a $500,000 bond. He has released new music (including the controversially titled “NuPac” album) and was involved in another shooting incident, which he survived.

Ave recently released his latest project, “White Christmas 5” and has dropped visuals to the song “2 Legit 2 Quit”. The video is animated, with Troy’s lyrics unfolding in the pages of a comic book. He addresses much of the fore mentioned situations, as well as his current situations with some hip hop artists who have called him out for “snitching” (Mysonne, Cassanova 2X to name a few). Many have even accused Troy admitting to snitching in the song due to the lyrics “….middle finger from the stand/It’s either me or you!”

What do you think? Is Troy wrong? Did he “snitch”? View the video and drop your comments below! #LetsTalkAboutIt
